Bogota D.C., June 2025 (@Minagricultura, @UPRAColombia, @dorairey). After the success of the first edition, which brought together more than 300 attendees including producers, researchers, representatives of the public and private sector, and leaders of the AgTech ecosystem, the Colombian capital will host the Second Artificial Intelligence Summit for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development Sector, AgroTIC 2025.

Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MinAgriculture), the Rural Agricultural Planning Unit (UPRA) and AGROSAVIA, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota and ESRI Colombia, the Summit is consolidated as the main space for dialogue, learning and articulation around the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in Colombian agriculture.

According to Dora Inés Rey, director general of UPRA, “this summit represents a fundamental step for Colombian agriculture, which has in technology and artificial intelligence strategic allies to face the challenges of sustainability and efficiency. We stress the importance of collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors to convert the potential of agriculture into real development opportunities for the country”.

The event, which this year will be held on June 9 at the main auditorium of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Salitre headquarters, starting at 7:30 a.m., will bring together experts, technological experiences applied in the territory and real tools that are already transforming the way in which the agricultural sector plans, produces and makes decisions.

Jorge Mario Díaz, executive director of Agrosavia, said: “The summit is a space to show how science, data and technology are already having an impact on the Colombian countryside. Our challenge is to close gaps and democratize access to these tools so that every producer, regardless of their location, can benefit from this transformation”.

During the day, attendees will be able to learn about interactive experience zones, discussion panels, technologies in operation and successful cases of rural innovation supported by tools based on data, algorithms and predictive models. This second edition also seeks to strengthen inter-institutional articulation and the practical approach of the solutions presented.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, highlighted that “From the entity we work to close digital gaps and promote the adoption of emerging technologies that transform our business fabric. That is why we support this initiative that contributes to the strengthening of the innovation ecosystem, the generation of new opportunities and, above all, allows us to join efforts to contribute from Bogota-Region to the country and its economic fabric. We also promote the transfer of knowledge that contributes and provides tools to all sectors”.

The first edition of the Summit, held on December 5 and 6, 2024, brought together more than 200 attendees, more than 2,000 people connected virtually, 35 national and international experts and five specialized panels, consolidating a space of high technical and strategic level to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in Colombian agriculture.

This meeting is being held within the framework of the Unified National System of Rural Agricultural Information (SNUIRA), specifically in its data science, technological evolution and digital transformation component, and is articulated with the sectoral interoperability strategy of the agricultural sector. It is also aligned with the Colombia PotencIA Digital strategy of the ICT Ministry, where agriculture has been identified as one of the priority innovation ecosystems, and responds to the challenges defined by the Conpes 4144 on Artificial Intelligence, consolidating a comprehensive vision of public policy, technology and rural development.

Participation in the IA Agro 2025 Summit is free with prior registration. Those interested can secure their place by registering at the following link: https://cloud.crm.agrosavia.co/segunda_cumbre_IA_Agro.

We look forward to seeing you this June 9 in Bogota to continue building, supported by artificial intelligence, a more sustainable, strategic and connected to the territory agriculture!
