As part of its efforts to continue supporting the consolidation of economic reactivation in companies, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB) launched its Energy Efficiency Market Revitalization Program, a strategy that seeks to serve companies in the energy sector engaged in engineering, consulting, installation, maintenance and supply of electrical supplies, as well as companies that offer solutions in energy efficiency or services.
Through the program, participating entrepreneurs will receive benefits such as free access to courses, workshops and training; evaluation of energy services through ICONTEC, being part of a directory of participants, and access to networking spaces with companies from other sectors and potential customers.
The dynamics of the sector
- In Bogotá - Region there are 9,139 energy services companies, of which 88% are micro-enterprises and 7.5% are small; and 9.3% are located in the Region. (Business Register 2021)
- Between 2019 and 2020, the business fabric had a decrease of close to 8%, with a reduction of jobs of about 12%.
- The National Government promotes energy efficiency, through different tools and incentives, due to the importance of these measures in business productivity (in economic sectors with high energy consumption, energy costs can represent up to 30% of their operating costs) and in the impact on the environment.

The CCB's commitment for 2022 is to continue implementing programs to contribute to the strengthening and consolidation of the reactivation of several of the sectors that were strongly affected by the pandemic. Thus, in addition to this program focused on the electric energy sector, this year three other new programs will be launched that will benefit companies in the real estate, beauty and wellness, and drugstores and health food stores segments.
These new programs will be added to 7 others that have been implemented since 2021 to support the economic reactivation of the fashion, gastronomy, creative industries, health, tourism, digital solutions, financial and logistics, and pharmaceutical exports sectors.
