La CCB
Bogota, June 24, 2024. Entrepreneurs and businessmen who have a good or service aimed at the protection and welfare of companion animals (dogs and cats), will have from Wednesday, June 26, a Cluster Initiative that will contribute to achieve more competitive businesses.
This is the Animal Protection and Welfare Cluster Initiative (PyBA), led by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, together with public and private actors and academia, which will be launched this June 26 at the CCB's Salitre Business Center (Av El Dorado # 68 D-35 floor 1) at 8:00 a.m.. This Cluster Initiative joins the 17 that the CCB already has and with which it contributes decisively in closing gaps that limit competitiveness through actions, projects and services.
With this initiative, the CCB seeks to benefit companies working in food, products and services related to pet care,
through a series of advisory services focused on consolidating product distribution networks, networking spaces, support on technological and digital innovation issues, and training on how to carry out assertive products and services, among others.
In Bogota alone there are more than 2,000 companies in the field of food, veterinary care and services, and 32,000 more belonging to related businesses, which constitutes opportunities to generate new business opportunities with sectors such as fashion, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, tourism, recreation and logistics.
Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce stated that "From the Bogota Chamber of Commerce we are committed to strengthening and promoting all commercial activities, mainly those of popular economy, therefore, and understanding that the segment associated with pets is on the rise, we have decided to launch a specific cluster specialized in their needs and business models. Our vision is to lead them to be their best version and to respond in the most efficient way to the needs we see in the market", he said.
He also said that, for the implementation of this initiative, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce will have the support of allies such as the National, District and Regional Governments, among other actors, who will jointly seek to promote the development of new businesses in products, goods and services aimed at companies, entrepreneurs and social actors.
