In its commitment to continue promoting the reactivation of the market, talent and growth of the Colombian audiovisual industry, the Bogota Audiovisual Market - BAM, a program of Proimágenes Colombia and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, will hold its 13th edition from July 11 to 16, 2022.
After a successful call for national projects for its Bammers, Stories, Film Projects, Series Projects, Animation, Film Screenings and Short Film Screenings categories, the BAM continues to consolidate its position as a benchmark in Latin America. A total of 67 contents and talents were selected, including 30 projects in development (children's animation, series, feature films); 6 feature films and 5 short films in post-production; 12 audiovisual writers with stories in development, and 14 young talents in the audiovisual industry. In addition, 1 fast track series project and 5 Film Projects (feature films in development). This year, the market has 61 international guests from 16 countries.
Inauguration
To kick off BAM 2022's on-site activities, an opening event will be held on July 13 at the Cinemateca de Bogotá (Carrera 3 #19-10), with the presentation of two animated short films: The Monkey, directed by Lorenzo Degl'Innocenti and Xosé Zapata, which won the Goya award for best animated short film; and Reparaciones, directed by Colombian Wilson Borja, which recently received the award in the Perspectives short film section of the Annecy Film Festival in France.
On-site activities
BAM will carry out its agenda of activities from July 11 to 16 with a hybrid format that will include virtual and on-site activities through its virtual platform and at three locations in Bogotá: Gimnasio Moderno, Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá - Sede Chapinero, Casa ARK and the Multiplex Cine Colombia on Avenida Chile.
● Gimnasio Moderno: Experience venue and registration point, where the talks with academic experts -BAM Talks-; the industry breakfasts -BAM Brunch-; the commercial fair -Big Top-; as well as the activities concerning television and digital content, in alliance with the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications (MinTIC), with the participation of regional channels and audiovisual directors and producers belonging to ethnic groups and with diverse capacities -Lounge- will take place. There will also take place the different activities of experience around projects, products and services of the allies, in the BAM Forum, and the awarding of the contents and talents of the 2022 calls for proposals in the closing ceremony.
● Bogota Chamber of Commerce - Chapinero Office: Industry Headquarters. It will be a specialized space for one-to-one meetings, industry meetings -Market Sessions-, specialized training activities for those selected by call, networking spaces with guests, among other activities.
● Multiplex Cine Colombia Avenida Chile: Main screening venue for feature and short films selected by call for entries.
● Casa ARK: Special projection space.
Academic Program
This year, in parallel to the meetings between industry professionals and business rounds, BAM's academic agenda seeks to open the space to reflections, teachings and inspiring lessons from national and international professionals. The latest advances in technology, distribution, financing, inclusion, sustainability, among others, will be presented through 12 sessions in the form of conversations, conferences and workshops.
Among the most relevant topics this year, some not to be missed are: The Metaverse and opportunities for the sector, blockchain as a financing tool, literary adaptations to audiovisual, world building, musical synchronization, audience design and green productions.
