The new Documentary Films category is launched, which includes a special award in partnership with EURODOC.

Bogotá, November 2025. The Bogotá Audiovisual Market – BAM, a cultural program of Proimágenes Colombia and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, announces the opening of the first stage of calls for its 17th edition, which will take place from July 6 to 10, 2026, in Bogotá.

Until January 8, 2026, creators and sector agents can register in the BAM Projects, BAM Labs, and BAM Talents categories, which bring together the most representative initiatives for the development of audiovisual projects in Colombia.

BAM17 News: A New Structure to Boost Talent

For this edition, BAM presents a new structure that groups its calls into three main strategic lines:

BAM Projects: This is the market space aimed at promoting the development and international projection of projects in an advanced stage. Here converge Fiction Films (feature-length fiction films), Documentary Films (documentaries in development with a minimum percentage of secured financing), Series (for fiction and documentary series looking for strategic partners), and Animation (animation projects, series, or feature films, aimed at audiences between 3 and 16 years old).

BAM Talents: This is dedicated to discovering and supporting new voices in Colombian audiovisual production. Its sections—Stories (Screenwriters) and BAMMERS (young talents)—offer creative, narrative, and professional exploration tools for those beginning to consolidate their careers. From story development to understanding the functioning of an audiovisual market, this group paves the way for the next generation of storytellers and creators.

BAM Labs: This is BAM's artistic support space, aimed at strengthening the creative vision and narrative structure of works in progress. Through the Editing Labs for Rough Shorts (for short formats) and Rough Features (for long formats), participants work with international experts in editing processes that enhance the aesthetic and narrative proposal of their films. These works culminate their time in the lab with screenings during the market, receiving key feedback for their circulation.

In this first stage of calls, those wishing to participate can submit their projects in the following categories: BAM Projects with Fiction Films, Documentary Films, Series, and Animation. Additionally, BAM Talents with Stories, and finally, BAM Labs with Rough Features.

New Category: Documentary Films + EURODOC Award

As one of the major novelties of BAM17, the market announces the launch of the Documentary Films category – Feature-length documentaries in development, designed to boost creative documentary projects that require support to advance toward production and completion stages.

Registered projects must be in an advanced development phase and have a verifiable minimum percentage of secured financing. Within the framework of this new category, BAM presents an alliance with EURODOC – International Lab for Creative Documentary Production, one of the most prestigious labs in the world for creative documentary producers.

Thanks to this collaboration, registered individuals may apply for a direct pass and a 100% scholarship for the producer of the selected project to this international program, which has 26 years of experience strengthening global co-production networks and supporting innovative works.

Impact and International Projection

BAM's different categories accompany the key stages of audiovisual creation, from the conception of the idea to its finalization and exhibition. Thanks to its support model and strategic alliances, productions that have passed through BAM are currently circulating in international festivals and markets.

In 2025, BAM facilitated more than 800 business meetings between projects and potential partners, co-producers, and investors, and in 2026, it will continue to promote the encounter between Colombian audiovisual talent and the ideal opportunities to bring their stories to multiple screens.
