Bogota, October 2024. With the aim of boosting trade, promoting tourism and boosting sales during the year-end season, between October 30 and December 4, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), with the support of Fenalco, the Mayor's Office of Bogota and the Government of Cundinamarca, will hold a new edition of the call for Christmas showcases, in which 1,000 businesses and companies from Bogota and the region will participate.

Registrations for the call will be open from October 30 until November 21 on the web page of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, in the “Christmas Showcases” section, whose e-mail address is https://www.ccb.org.co/de-interes/noticias/vitrinas-navidenas-ccb.

The initiative, which also includes complementary activities such as the development of skills in window dressing, family tours and Christmas caravans, is aimed at all registered and renewed companies in Bogota and the jurisdiction of the CCB that have a point of sale and are located in some of the defined commercial areas.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, said: “From the CCB we have decided to revive, after 13 years, the Christmas showcases because we want to energize trade to generate more sales in the year-end season, as well as to promote the Christmas spirit.This initiative will allow them to start this season on the right foot and move the cash registers of businesses in Bogota and the region”.

For his part, the director of Fenalco Bogota Cundinamarca, Juan Esteban Orrego, said: “With the call for Christmas Showcases, we seek not only to beautify the city and bring the Christmas spirit to every corner, but also to encourage trade and promote the talent of our merchants. The decorated windows attract customers and tourists, creating a unique experience and generating business opportunities in this important season. We invite everyone to join in and demonstrate that commerce in Bogota is innovative, creative and committed to economic reactivation”.

Categories and requirements

Participating companies must fit into one of the 11 categories available for the call: decoration and home; fashion; children's items and gifts; jewelry and costume jewelry; gastronomy; pets; health and beauty; recreation and sports; technology; stores; and shopping malls.

Likewise, the requirements established by the organization of the call are:

• To be registered in the Commercial Registry as a merchant, whether natural or legal person, with active commercial registration of the CCB and have the renewal for 2024.

• Likewise, the applicant's business establishment must be registered and active in the Commercial Registry, with renewal for the current year.

• The registration form must be correctly filled out.

• The establishment must belong to one of the categories established in the call for entries and each showcase can only be registered in one category.

• It should be noted that participation is subject to prior approval by the CCB, which will review compliance with all requirements.

Location

Another essential requirement is the location of the establishment. In Bogotá, it must be located in the localities of Usaquén, Chapinero, Barrios Unidos, Teusaquillo, Engativá, Puente Aranda, Antonio Nariño, La Candelaria and Kennedy.

In the region, they must be located in Chía, Cota, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá, Fusagasugá and Soacha.

The Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB) will recognize the best Christmas showcases in the following manner and according to the results delivered by the jurors:

• Best Christmas Showcase by Category in Bogota:

  the showcase with the highest score in each of the 10 categories will be recognized, according to the evaluation of the qualifying jury in the defined locations in Bogota.

• Best Christmas Showcase in the Region: the showcase with the highest score in the municipalities of Chía, Cota, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá, Fusagasugá and Soacha will be recognized.

• Best Shopping Mall: the showcase with the highest score awarded by the jury will receive special recognition.

• The Showcase + Viral: this prize will be awarded to the showcase that achieves the highest number of clicks on social networks, thanks to the active participation of citizens.

Other recognitions

• Public recognition.

• Participation in a collective stand at the Feria del Hogar.

• Accompaniment of a business consultant.

• And a plaque of recognition for the first place winner.

• All awards will be granted according to the conditions established by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, which may be modified or added as deemed necessary.
