Bogota, November 7, 2024. Between November 22 and 24, Bogota Fashion Week, the fashion program of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), inaugurates the first edition of Bogota Fashion Weekend, the fashion weekend in the country's capital. This event, which is free for attendees, highlights the CCB's commitment to promote the economic development of the sector, promoting the growth and strengthening of fashion businesses in the city.
For three days, visitors will be able to enjoy more than 160 events and discover collections from more than 300 independent brands and designers. Likewise, citizens will be able to visit 137 iconic fashion spaces in the city, some of them opening their doors for the first time, where they will be able to acquire exclusive pieces in promotion for the end-of-year season.
The participating brands were selected by an independent committee with the participation of Daniela Riaño, celebrity stylist and fashion producer; Eleonora Morales, consultant and brand advisor; and Melissa Jaramillo, co-founder and active member of the Vístete de Colombia Development Committee.
“At the Bogota Chamber of Commerce we want to promote the popular economy and encourage local consumption, so we develop programs and initiatives that connect businesses with citizens. With Bogota Fashion Weekend, we want to activate strategic sectors of our city by creating free tours and promoting special offers from participating stores and fashion spaces. We are confident that this will generate a positive impact for the sector and the fashion industry in general,” said Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce.
The recently inaugurated Centro Felicidad Chapinero -CEFE- will be the meeting point for Conversations and workshops, with 5 thematic axes that revolve around sustainability, the international market, commercial purposes, trends and experiences. We will also have a Design Market where 45 brands will exhibit.
“The fashion sector is one of the most significant for the economy of Bogota. At the CCB we seek to energize this industry and with Bogota Fashion Weekend we want to bring fashion to all audiences, bringing it to the citizens through free tours and activities, with free transportation, which will allow them to learn about the local and national fashion offer. There will also be spaces to talk about issues that challenge fashion, and for experimentation, with various interventions in the city,” said Maria Paz Gaviria, Manager of Cultural Programs of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce.
