Bogota Fashion Week - BFW, the commercial and promotional platform for fashion of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), seeks to promote the circulation and commercialization of local independent design by strengthening the participating brands, generating contact spaces for business and bringing all audiences closer to the work of these entrepreneurs.
From May 19 to 21, visitors will find at Ágora Bogotá - Convention Center more than 100 designers and brands divided into nine categories for a better buyer experience: Ready-to-wear (Prêt-à-porter), Lingerie, Jewellery, Footwear, Semi-Haute Couture (Demi-Couture/Evening Wear), Beachwear, Apparel, Bags and Accessories.
The Catwalks, a section conceived for sales activation, will materialize the 8 months of preparation, conceptualization and follow-up of the design of the Holiday/Celebration and Pre-Resort/Cruise (Holiday and Beachwear) collections that the brands will present during the three days of the market. From the specialized monitoring phase, the consulting firm Kollective Moda selected 17 brands that stood out during the monitoring process for a staging.
During the inaugural event, Leal Daccarett, a design brand created by Francisco Leal and Karen Daccarett, will present its collection El Contento, an expression of "color, flavor, vibrancy, tumbao and brightness". On the other hand, from May 19 to 21, they will be present on the catwalk:
1. Stevan Valencia, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with his Open Sea collection, inspired by the immensity of the sea and the fantastic stories told by medieval sailors about what they saw in the farthest points.
2. Carolina Estefan, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with her Paloemango collection, inspired by the roots of her mother's vallenato land, where she reflects the natural richness with shapes inspired by mango leaves and other symbolic aspects such as the La Mina river, the indigenous community of the Arhuacos, the accordion and the view of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
3. Lina Cantillo, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with her Raíces collection, a mix of resort and elegance of unique and sartorial pieces. It is inspired by the man in community and also in his needs, in his environment and in the origin of his own being, in his DNA, in his own thoughts, in happiness, in inclusion and non-gender.
4. CUBEL, from the Apparel segment, with its PAKAL AW 2022 - 23 collection, where it continues to highlight stories of pre-Hispanic cultures with the proposal of an avant-garde design. Each piece is created from processes that start from a business model with sustainable practices, inclusion of materials and technology; among natural, synthetic and certified recycled fibers.
5. Ivory Atelier, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with its Swining London collection, presents pieces for a woman who directs her life towards joy and spontaneity. She bets on the beauty of textiles in white and ecru tones, always contrasting them with chromatic ranges and vivid prints.
6. Camilo Franco, from the Semi-Haute Couture segment (Demi-Couture), with his Fall/Winter 22 - Cosmic Dancer collection that highlights the need to reconnect with that which fills with joy, power and sensuality. This collection synthesizes aesthetic elements typical of the disco era, endowed with a futuristic air where metallic tones and sparkling textures take inspiration from the endless nights of Saturday night fever, reflection of a cosmopolitan vision.
7. MAZ Manuela Alvarez, from the Apparel segment, with its Flor de Venus collection, which presents an aesthetic that empowers women in their daily lives through its garments and the essence they contain. This brand operates under a slow and intrinsically sustainable fashion model, since 9% of its pieces are made by artisan hands.
8. Andrés Otálora, from the Semi-Haute Couture (Demi-Couture) segment, with his Pre-Fall 2022 collection that stands out for its use of abstract prints, luxurious silks, high attention to detail and perfect tailoring; Otálora's elegant pieces aim to empower contemporary women of any age.
9. AZULU, from the Semi-Haute Couture (Demi-Couture) segment, with its collection Del sur FW 2022, inspired by the lively culture and natural beauty of Colombia. It celebrates with a rich color palette, eclectic prints and delicate textures, the innate charm and exuberance of a modern woman. AZULU's collections are innovative, designed for a sophisticated and feminine woman.
10. Armantia, Ette de Oro and Palo de Rosa Beachwear, from the Beachwear segment, with their Rio, A flor de miel and Island Gyal collections, which present pieces with natural fibers and other materials, transformed with artisanal techniques, as well as high-tech materials. The three brands focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility in their processes.
11. Cala de la Cruz, from the Beachwear segment, with its Resort23: Mare collection that combines bold yet simple designs with a conscious mindset. Inspired by everyday beauty, the brand fuses timeless yet retro silhouettes with botanical, geometric and figurative graphic elements that capture an energetic notion.
12. A MODO MIO, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with its Immortale collection that speaks of life after chaos. Through messages such as Nuovo Modi, Vita domo il caos and eye-shaped prints, the collection explores the strength and learning inherent in rebirth after a crisis.
13. Faride Ramos, from the Ready-to-Wear segment, with her Returning collection, which presents timeless, long-lasting garments in which her creative vision is reflected in a responsible manner.
14. Carlo Carrizosa, from the Semi-High Couture segment (Demi-Couture), with his Valentina collection that stands out for the manual work of some of the best artisans in Colombia, experts in pleating techniques and traditional craftsmanship of tailoring. On this runway, manufacturing becomes art as a form of expression, in which each piece acquires unique and irreplaceable characteristics due to its manual nature.
