Bogotá, April 25, 2023. ARTBO | Weekend, an initiative of ARTBO, the arts program of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, ended last Sunday, April 23, with the assistance of 41,000 people, the participation of 56 exhibition spaces, including galleries, museums, foundations and self-managed spaces.
During the three days of the meeting, citizens were able to enjoy tours of six artistic circuits –Historical Center, Macarena, Teusaquillo, Chapinero Central, San Felipe, Chapinero Norte– and other free activities through the Forum, Intervention and Meeting components Editorial. In addition, it was the opportunity to present the ARTBO Catalog | Weekend 2023, which brought together the works of 67 artists represented by the participating galleries, under the curatorship of Carolina Cerón, as part of the commercial strategy that seeks to recognize the role of the collector as a fundamental axis for the development and strengthening of the sector.
The event was attended by international guests from museums and institutions, as well as the curatorial work of the Mexican Sofía Casarín (curator and historian, curator of the Forum component), Carolina Cerón (associate professor in the Department of Art at the University of los Andes and curator of the Intervention component) and of Proyecto Relámpago (Valeria Giraldo and Andrés Fresneda, curators of the Editorial Meeting component).
