Bogotá, April 27, 2023. The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce has a great commitment to achieve sustainable companies from the economic, social and environmental point of view in Bogotá and the Region. For this reason, in its support process for business strengthening, the entity has incorporated sustainability practices through programs and tools, capacity building around decarbonization, climate action, circular economy, energy efficiency and the leverage of partnerships. benefit and collective interest (BIC), among others.

To put the importance of sustainability at the center of the business conversation and launch programs that allow companies to access tools to advance in the matter, on May 3 and 4 the CCB will hold the event "I am Sustainable" at the Center Empresarial Salitre, where entrepreneurs and businessmen will also be able to learn about successful trends and strategies.

Within the framework of the event, the Sustainability Ranking will be launched, a free self-assessment exercise that companies of all sizes and sectors will have available, and which will allow them to determine the degree of progress regarding sustainable management, receiving technical recommendations and identifying the main challenges that companies must address in environmental, social and corporate governance matters.

The Circular Economy Solutions Program will also be launched, an initiative in its second cohort that offers content, networking spaces, and specialized support from experts to enhance business capabilities and generate opportunities in the circular economy for cluster companies. The first version of the program was carried out in the first quarter of 2023, benefiting 350 companies.

Registered companies will be able to participate in talks and consultancies on business sustainability issues such as environmental practices, relations with the community and its employees, corporate governance, human rights, integrity, diversity and inclusion, among others. In the same way, they will be able to participate in the sustainable finance roundtable, where they will find various sources of financing and investment, for companies that bet on business sustainability.

A total of 80 companies will exhibit their products or services in the trade show, and will participate in the business conference, which seeks to bring different supply options closer to meet the needs of these companies.

Within the framework of the event, the CCB will launch the Guide for MSMEs, carried out in collaboration with the International Institute for Anti-Corruption Studies, which will help SMEs understand and implement a basic compliance program to build an integral company, boost their business and make it stronger and more sustainable.

As part of the programming on the second day (May 4), the Internationalization of Sustainable Fashion Congress will be held in order to bring together all the international stakeholders and experts in the same space, a space that will allow businessmen to learn about aspects related to the industry sustainability in the sector, innovation processes and green seals. The lessons learned and the experience lived in the missions and other activities of the Initiative "Sustainability in the fashion sector for its internationalization" will also be presented, carried out with resources from the European Union, through the Adelante 2 cooperation window.

Through the Continuing Education program, the CCB in alliance with Iberonex, carries out the Sustainable Management Program, seeking that companies adopt cross-cutting plans that imply good management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, as well as sustainable leadership.
