Discovering the Entrepreneurial Heart of El Restrepo in "Somos Llaves"

01 March 2024The new television program "Somos Llaves" begins its journey exploring the stories of tenacity and creativity in Bogotá's emblematic El Restrepo neighborhood, known for its tradition in footwear and leather goods. Learn highlights from the first episode and how the Bogota Chamber of Commerce supports local entrepreneurs, transforming challenges into opportunities and forging a promising future for the community.

We begin 2024 with renewed opportunities for merchants in Bogota. In particular, we turn to the El Restrepo neighborhood, recognized as the epicenter of footwear and leather goods in the Colombian capital. Next, we will explore the inspiring stories of three local entrepreneurs who have managed to stand out in the competitive business world, thanks to the support and accompaniment of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB).

The CCB is committed to reactivating the economy by supporting small businessmen and women in the El Restrepo neighborhood, highlighting the importance of strengthening the social and economic fabric, and providing support to those who seek to move their businesses forward.

Yudi Cardozo, owner of Cardinn, a Colombian company dedicated to the manufacture of footwear, shares her experience working hand in hand with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce. "Thanks to this entity I have received advice and support, improving both production and product display. She emphasizes the importance of training and financial support for the sustainable growth of her company".

For Leidy Escobar, owner of Calzado Sandrelly, the CCB's support has allowed her to grow and experience important advances in her business career. "I have managed to expand my business, adapting to new formats while maintaining my brand as a reference in the women's footwear sector. My enterprise was born from a long family history in the manufacture of handcrafted footwear and today it has great recognition."

Marcela Mancilla, owner of Barcelo, a leather goods store specializing in belts, shares her entrepreneurial journey. "Since our beginnings in 2007, we have experienced significant growth with the support of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce. We emphasize the importance of training in marketing and social networks, as well as participation in fairs facilitated by the CCB to conquer new markets."

Thus, the experiences of Yudi, Leidy and Marcela highlight the relevance of the comprehensive support that the Bogota Chamber of Commerce offers to more than 1,000 entrepreneurs in the El Restrepo neighborhood, with training on financial issues to internationalization projects, being a fundamental ally for business growth in Bogota - Region.
