Bogota, February 7, 2024. ARTBO, the arts program of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, celebrates its 20th anniversary with the eighth edition of ARTBO | Weekend, to be held April 12-14, a free event that invites the community to tour the city through art. Since 2017, this initiative seeks to promote the circulation of art in Bogota, encourage the formation of new audiences and contribute to the strengthening of the cultural and creative industry.

ARTBO | Weekend offers citizens the opportunity to explore a varied artistic program during extended hours, opening the doors of exhibition spaces located in the Historic Center, Macarena, Teusaquillo, Chapinero Central, San Felipe and Chapinero Norte circuits. In addition to the tours, the event features a space for learning and discussion, one dedicated to independent publishers and a commercial exhibition that will showcase the most outstanding works of the participants.

In this edition, Ruta Diseño will be inaugurated, the new section of ARTBO | Weekend that seeks to explore the close relationship between the languages of contemporary art, design and history. The objective is to promote the appreciation and understanding of design as a form of artistic and functional expression among the public of Bogota through visits to design spaces in Bogota.

Ovidio Claros, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, said: "ARTBO | Weekend contributes significantly to the cultural development of the city, generates wellbeing in our community and reaffirms our commitment to the entire chain of the visual arts in the country. For this reason, we invite artists and exhibition spaces to join this eighth edition of ARTBO | Weekend to bring all Bogota residents closer to art".

To be part of this experience, ARTBO invites galleries, self-managed spaces, institutions, foundations and museums to apply until February 11. Those interested should review in detail the rules of participation and complete the application in the online application on the website www.artbo.co.

Maria Paz Gaviria, Manager of Cultural Programs at the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, said that "this is an opportunity to showcase the work of the visual arts value chain, to which we are committed through strengthening processes and spaces like ARTBO | Weekend, which allow us to showcase the best of the national offer and contribute not only to boost sales in the sector, but also to bring all audiences closer to the languages of art.
